Swimathon 2010 fundraises over £2million!

We are delighted to announce that through the efforts of over 20,000 swimmers, we have raised over £2 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care and The Swimathon Foundation - that's £500,000 more than 2009!

Thank you to the swimmers for their physical and fundraising efforts; the thousands of donors for their generous support; the pools for hosting and managing the events; and all the volunteers that made the event possible!

Marie Curie Cancer Care consists of a network of 2,700 Marie Curie Nurses, who work through the day and night to provide care for people with cancer and other terminal illnesses. Every £ counts and every £20 raised will provide one hour of nursing care in a patient's home - completely free.

Support Marie Curie Cancer Care

Last year Marie Curie Nurses provided almost 1.3million hours of nursing care across the UK to more than 22,000 terminally ill people - in their own homes and completely free.

Kenneth took part as a tribute to a friend who benefited from Marie Curie Cancer Care:
"I'm proud to be raising money for a charity like Marie Curie Cancer Care, who do so much to help others in such a practical way."
